Congratulations to Prince William and Catherine!!!

Today April 29,2011 is a day to celebrate with the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. The two had their nuptials at West Minster Abbey this morning with all the world to see. As I was unable to be one of the lucky ones to be over in London to witness in person, my children and I did watch it on BBC America. It was a beautiful ceremony, and the newly married couple look to be absolutly happy!! Many happy blessings to Prince William and Catherine!!

Doctor Who BBC America Marathon

I am sure all you whovians out there already know and should be watching the marathon of Doctor Who on BBC America!! If your not, what on earth are you all waiting for??!! Plop your butt down in front of your telly and enter the world of who!!! Since last night at 5pm EST it has been running and during the breaks they show little clips or specials and what not. Also if you text DOCTOR WHO to 23000 you can recieve exclusive clips and behind the scenes interviews and when special prizes!!! I of course have done so and will try to post everything I receive. Sit back and enjoy, it is a brilliant day to be watching Doctor Who!!

BBC Defends Doctor Who's Money Spending

The BBC has defended its decision to fly Matt Smith to Venice for an episode of Doctor Who Confidential.

In tomorrow's Doctor Who, the Doctor and his companion Amy (Karen Gillan) travel to the Italian city.

The show was filmed in Croatia, but Smith was flown to Venice to make Doctor Who Confidential.

The programme's makers were later accused by an unnamed source of wasting money but a BBC spokesperson has now issued a robust defence of the programme.

The representative told DS that the show had stuck to its "modest budget" and explained that the documentary was about Venice so could not be made anywhere else.

The spokesperson added that Doctor Who Confidential is "fantastically popular" with its audience and praised the strand for explaining the history of Venice to a young audience.

"Matt Smith made a short visit to Venice for Doctor Who Confidential to bring viewers a history of the city and to tell the story and inspiration behind the Doctor Who episode it follows," the representative said. "Unlike a drama, an historical film about Venice can't be recreated in Croatia."

Doctor Who continues tomorrow at 6pm on BBC One and is followed by Doctor Who Confidential at 7pm on BBC Three.

BBC America To Show Series 5 of "Who"!!!

BBC America has picked up the US rights to air the upcoming fifth season of Doctor Who, it has been announced.

The new run, which sees Matt Smith take over from David Tennant in the lead role, is currently being filmed in Cardiff, Wales.

The thirteen-episode fifth season will air on BBC America and BBC America HD in Q2 2010 shortly after its UK premiere.

The network also confirmed that its recent screening of Torchwood: Children Of Earth reached a cumulative 3.3 million viewers (live + SD) over its broadcast week at the end of July, making it BBC America's most successful ever series. The subsequent broadcast of Doctor Who: Planet Of The Dead brought in 657,000 viewers.

BBC America has stated that the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas Special "The Next Doctor", Starring David Tennant and David Morrisey, will be airing in the states on BBC America on June 27th, 2009.
